ENGR 210 - Engineering Mechanics: Statics 3 Credit(s) An intensive study of the equilibrium of particles and rigid bodies. Topics include vector operations and the analysis of two- and three-dimensional force systems, the resultant of force systems, moments, couples, and free-body diagrams. Students apply principles of static equilibrium to solve problems involving centers of gravity, centroids, fluid pressure, trusses, frames, machines, and friction. Emphasis is placed on developing systematic problem-solving methods essential for all engineering disciplines.
