MATH 116 - Mathematics Appreciation

This course examines Mathematics in a wide range of settings.  One aspect of the course considers a cultural and historic overview.  Another aspect considers the breadth of modern Mathematics.  Emphasis is placed on both utility, computation, and applications and also on aesthetic appreciation, including puzzles and games.  Emphasis is placed on learning to see how ideas are expressed mathematically.

Pre/Corequisite(s): Satisfactory reading and writing placement or ENG 097  or ENG 101  or ENG ENG 115
