BIO 225 - AP Health Care II

This course is the second semester of a two-semester sequence on the structure and function of the human body that systematically covers all organ systems and prepares students for a career in the health care field.The course provides students with in-depth knowledge, understanding, and ability to explain the various anatomic and physiologic aspects of the body systems in normal and common pathological conditions.Topics of this part of the course include a study of endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, immune, digestive, respiratory, excretory, reproductive systems. The blood, nutrition, diet, energy balance, body fluids, body electrolyte balance, body acid-base balance, pregnancy, human development, and heredity are also examined. Students in health science programs need to check with their advisor before taking this class as it may not be an acceptable science course. This course contains both a lecture and a lab component.
