BIO 114 - Anatomy and Physiology I

This course is the first semester of an introductory two-semester sequence on the structure and function of the human body. The students are expected to develop knowledge and understanding of the appropriate terminology and apply the basic physiological concepts such as homeostasis to describe the body systems in normal and selected pathological conditions. Topics include the fundamental concepts of chemistry, cytology, histology, a study of the integumentary system, the skeletal system, the muscular system, the nervous system, and the special senses. This course includes both a lecture and a lab component.

Prerequisite(s): Satisfactory reading and writing placement or ENG 097 .
Pre/Corequisite(s): ENG 101   or ENG 115
