This program is designed for those who expect to transfer to a college or university to study in biology. The curriculum gives students a broad background in liberal arts with a concentration in biology and physical sciences.   

In addition to General Education Outcomes, upon completion of the program, graduates will be able to:

  1. Apply the scientific method in designing, conducting and analyzing experiments.
  2. Interpret and apply information from credible scientific sources.
  3. Explain basic principles of biology, including the core concepts of structure and function, genetics, reproduction, and evolution.
  4. Integrate and apply knowledge across scientific disciplines.
  5. Demonstrate basic lab skills in biology and the physical sciences.

Training in biology provides a foundation a wide range of fields including:

  • Health Sciences
  • Dentistry
  • Veterinary medicine
  • Ecology
  • Organismal biology
  • Environmental science
  • Education
