RAH 102 - Refrigeration Controls

This course is an introduction to controls of refrigeration, heating and cooling systems. Students will become familiar with the mechanical and electrical components used in air conditioning and refrigeration systems to create the desired operation of these systems. The students will be introduced to basic electrical materials and components.  They will learn schematic reading, and component identification of basic electrical items. The students will also become familiar with basic electronics and simple microproccesors. This course also introduces basic motors and some controls of those motors pertaining to Refrigeration and Air Conditioning systems.  The final parts of the class will give  an overview of mechanical and electrical control and protection devices as well as refrigerant flow components including valves and regulating devices. This course is meant to be an introduction and will be assessed at the introductory level.
