HIT 235 - Medical Coding II

3 Credit(s)
This course introduces students to CPT coding used in reporting for third-party reimbursement. An understanding of the CPT electronic code book format and coding conventions is emphasized. Students develop skills in procedural operative report abstracting and accurate code assignment. HCPCS II and APCs are highlighted. Students will decipher and apply the codes to a variety of scenarios.

Prerequisite(s): HIT 110, HIT 125 , HIT 145 ,
Corequisite(s): HIT 225 , HIT 240 , HIT 251 .
Pre/Corequisite(s): MGT 250 . Lecture, 2; lab, 1.
